This place is walking distance from my parents house. Plenty of parking, great atmosphere and service with a solid menu. We always end up being a fairly large group when we come here and the majority of us are very satisfied with our food but usually there's one dish or order that seems off the mark.
It is an unpretentious restaurant and we were a little leery when the plastic menus were somewhat sticky and dirty. But the food was delicious and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. Most of our group had the fish and chips and both the fish and the chips received high marks. I had the ribs and they were amazing. So smoky and sticky and just melted off the bones. Excellent all round.
I love this place. It is all gluten-free and delicious. Eat in or takeout. Just amazing. It is in the old Winward pub and they’ve kept all the cool things that made that a wonderful environment.
The food was delicious and fresh. The fish was crispy and the chips were perfect. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely come back again! ?
Celiac approved! Clean, delicious and affordable. Best batter on the South Island. Easy peasy parking, cozy fireplace, and we look forward to enjoying the patio on a sunnier day. We had the halibut and brisket tacos. Definitely coming back for more menu options. Gf beer available too.
